ISO 14001 Gap Analysis

This is a service designed to provide an ISO 14001 status overview in quantative and qualitative form. A report will be issued that provides recommendations to help in the implementation of ISO 14001. It can be used as a starting point for implementation, as a check while the system is being introduced or as a check before the external audit and subsequent certification. Groundwork's Environmental Management System Training (GEMS)

This is a course designed to support managers with responsibility for the implementation of environmental management systems in the workplace. The course follows the ISO 14001 standard and is delivered over 6 half day sessions with an exam and portfolio. Successful delegates are presented with an award from the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. www.iema.net

Better Business Environments

A service delivered in conjunction with Groundwork (Stoke-on-Trent). Groundwork can help businesses to achieve cost-effective improvements to business premises, through consultation and environmental improvement design by a qualified landscape architect.

Accreditation

The final part in the process of attaining an environmental standard is accreditation. To continue the growth of the network's portfolio, SBEN has formed a partnership with an accreditation agency (NQA) to provide subsidised help and advice to businesses.

Localised Initiatives

SBEN is a countywide initiative. It is therefore important that the Network is involved with and supports District and Borough Councils. These initiatives help SBEN to raise its profile and create strong links with local authorities to provide services concentrated on geographical areas.
