
Ken Pearson
Principal Waste Manager
Ken’s career has been in mechanical engineering and waste management. He has worked for a number of local authorities around the country including Stoke on Trent City Council and Staffordshire County Council and has been involved with the development and operation of many facilities from landfill sites, recycling centres, composting plants, transfer stations and energy from waste plants including the planning applications and environmental permits.
He has been responsible for the development of waste strategies and the procurement of major waste management contracts. His work has included a period as vice-chair of the National Association of Waste Disposal Officers and he represented English local authorities on the DEFRA WEEE Advisory Group.
He is currently involved in all aspects of waste management, but principally in the development of bids for major local authority treatment contracts, waste strategies and feasibility studies.
Leisure interests include running and motorcycling.
Ken is a member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management.
