Joined South Staffordshire College in 1998 as the Head of Department ( Environment and Countryside Studies) and became the Director of SAFE ( a Sustainable Agenda in Further Education) in 2005. SAFE was a LSC supported initiative aimed at supporting sustainability in FE colleges throughout the West Midlands. Mark currently managers the Colleges environmental & sustainability management system ( accredited to ISO14001) and acts a consultant ( Regional Sustainability Advisor) to the FE sector.
Mark is a full member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and Charted Environmentalist of the Society of the Environment. He’s a registered low carbon consultant, Lead auditor for ISO14001, BREEAM/ code for Sustainable Homes/ Ecohomes assessor and ecologist.
South Staffordshire College is a general Further Education College formed in 2008/9 from the merger of Rodbaston, Cannock Tamworth and Lichfield Colleges. The College is committed to sustainability and is the only FE establishment in England to hold ISO14001 and membership of Ecocampus.
