Working with Partners Update (March 2010)

Business Link West Midlands
Dave attended the launch event of Improving Your Resource Efficiency, on 18th February at Aston University.  The event was chaired by David Middleton, the C.E.O. of Midlands Environmental Company.

John Barraclough represented Business Link along with David Terry.  Janet Bailey, the chair of SBEN, also attended.

The event proved a great success, with much evidence of resource efficiency measures undertaken by a number of companies.  These will be utilised by SBEN to show what is achievable and the savings that can be made.

Groundwork West Midlands
We are delighted to report that arrangements have been made with James Dennison (Regional Business Programme Director) for Resource Efficiency audits for companies with less than 10 employees.

These will, for the present, be paid for by SBEN to ensure we provide a similar service for these micro businesses as those for SME’s.

Keele University – Project Green
SBEN has had substantial involvement with this very successful project and has already introduced 23 placements for the scheme.

Cannock Business Support
Dave attended this business support event at Rugeley Power Station, on 5th February, which was organised by South Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce.  Dave gave a presentation on SBEN and the RE:think Energy Project and as a result we gained one new member.

Business Brokers – Let’s Do Funding, 17th March
SBEN have been invited to exhibit at this event, which is to be held at Britannia Stadium (see separate article for more information). Over 200 visitors are expected.

Destination Staffordshire Tourism Conference, 4th March
SBEN have also been invited to exhibit at this event, at Yarnfield Park Conference Centre.

HML Business Support
SBEN has enlisted the help of marketing expert, Heather Love, to help with the promotion of the Improving Your Resource Efficiency initiative.  Heather organised a telemarketing campaign for the first two events, which is proving to be very beneficial.
