"Great AGM and superb speaker from JLR"
"Extremely enjoyable & informative keynote speaker"
"Excellent network, which helps to keep abreast of environmental issues".
These were just a few of the comments from our very successful AGM.
We bid a fond farewell to Janet Bailey (pictured right, with Ian Cowie), who retired as sben Chairperson. Janet has worked tirelessly during the past 8 years, to promote and develop the network.
We're delighted to have Ian Cowie, as our new Chairman. Ian is the Environment and Risk Prevention Manager at Michelin Tyre PLC, Stoke and has been a member of our Organisers Group for many years.
Jon Lawrence (WWRD UK Ltd) was re-elected as sben Vice Chair - our thanks to Jon for his continued support.
Appointments to sben Management Team
This year’s sben awards were for 'commitment to continual environmental improvement through sben training' and were presented to:
Roger Bullivant Ltd (Paul Smith, pictured below left) and Schneider Electric Energy UK Ltd (Matthew Haubus, pictured below right).
Fran Leedham, Head of Sustainability and Environment at Jaguar Land Rover, delivered a fascinating insight into the challenges facing the rapidly expanding JLR.
Challenging their employees to develop ‘environmental innovations’ in the workplace has been key to engaging the support of their 22,000 employees.
As work has begun at the Staffordshire site of their new AJ200 engine production plant Fran spoke of her aspirations to design the most efficient manufacturing plant in the UK. We’ll be looking forward to the chance of a sben enviro visit once it’s up and running!!
Due to confidentiality reasons, we have been requested by JLR, not to forward the presentation to our members or to load it onto our website.
