What a fantastic visit!

Our thanks to SBEN member, Keith Maloney from Economic Energy, who organised the event.  Economic Energy are energy management and renewable consultants, who have earned a respected reputation for driving down and reducing energy and carbon emissions for many well known companies.

Recently, they have developed and facilitated an energy saving programme within Manchester United Football Club. The programme has resulted in a saving of over 18% on energy use.  They are also the first football club to receive the prestigious Carbon Trust Standard Accreditation

The day started off with three fascinating presentations, which were very aptly named, followed by a tour of the grounds:

• Lighting " Engineering Initiatives

It was very refreshing to listen and talk to people who are so positive about what can be achieved.  As mentioned by Keith there was certainly a ‘can do’ attitude, which was apparent from the various presentations.  We were shown great hospitality as soon as we arrived, from the Security men to the cleaners – everyone was so approachable and friendly.  It just shows how much everyone enjoys working for such a great ‘company’.
